What are Remnants?

With regards to natural stones like granite and marble, no two slabs are identical. Every slab is unique in nature and appearance. When we purchase our stones, we get them in “bundles.” Bundles meaning 6-8 slabs consecutively cut from the same block of stone. This allows us to handle projects requiring the use of 2 or more slabs and custom fabricating that project for an extremely elegant look.

When we run out of the stone that comprises that bundle, we’re often left with smaller pieces that aren’t large enough to do full size kitchen projects. When we order the next bundle of that same material, the differences are noticeable enough that we can’t mix and match the stone from the previous bundle. Therefore, we call these leftover stones “Remnants.”

Our indoor remnant department allows our customers to browse through our selections and find that unique piece that they desire for smaller projects like bathroom vanities, hearths, mantles, window sills, table tops, etc. Our remnant pricing is very competitive and often allows the customer to bypass the minimum square footage requirements that our competitors and box stores often have.

Remnants allow new home construction customers to get granite not only in their kitchen, but also in the bathrooms throughout their entire home for prices comparable to laminate or pre-fabricated stone vanity tops. Those pre-fabricated materials are often made in countries like China, and are thinner and sub-par in durability and appearance.

For customers that are remodeling their homes, remnants are an in-expensive alternative that can help add value in bathrooms and fireplaces. Our remnant special pricing often includes extras like sinks and back splash/side splash pieces at no additional charge.

We also have great options for the do-it-yourselfer. We can custom fabricate vanity tops or other work to their specifications. When finished, they simply pick up their order and install the product.
